Two Eagles Lodge Wedding ~ Union Bay, Vancouver Island

Two Eagles Lodge sits at the top of a hill overlooking beautiful Union Bay on Vancouver Island. Driving up to the Bed and Breakfast I was quickly welcomed by the wedding party and guests that had been camping and lodging there for the last couple of days. I was completely blown away by the set up and how accomodating Carolyn and her husband Steve were at Two Eagles Lodge Bed and Breakfast.  They made me and their guests feel comfortable and welcomed the large group with open arms.

Vancouver Island Wedding Photographer ~ Sarah & Stephen’s Forest Wedding at Cheakamus Centre

Nestled in the lush forest at Cheakamus Centre in Squamish on one of the hottest days of the summer, is where Sarah and Stephen said their vows during their first look.  It was a beautiful intimate moment between the two of them, and of course two photographers in their face… just kidding, we always kept our distance to give them their space.  After their first look they had a bit of down time before they said their I Do’s and a chance to spend some time together.  Their ceremony was beyond beautiful and heartwarming, with both of his parents from Ireland walking him down the aisle, and both of her parents escorting her.  It was beautiful to see the family involvement and both sides of the family coming together for such a special day. The receiving line they had after the wedding was full of laughs, hugs and tears of joy!

Pau & Paul Sauve – Cecil Green UBC

My first weddings of 2017, with Pau and Paul at Cecil Green UBC in Vancouver, could not have been a better way to set the tone for my upcoming wedding season!  It was the hottest day of the year so far and there was not a cloud in the sky. I of course was at the first look location way too early but I suppose I got to work on my tan. Once I saw the two limos pull up it was go-time… well right after the groomsmen had to jump my car because the battery was dead… and yes they absolutely insisted despite me telling them it was fine!

Aileen & Nik – Belcarra, Port Moody, BC

Intimate styled wedding photography shoot ~ Aileen and Nik – Belcarra, Port Moody, BC. 1940’s vintage dress hanging in my closet; The inspiration of my recent styled shoot!  The dress was my Granny’s from her and my Grandad’s wedding in the 40’s.  It is in mint condition and I could not pass up the opportunity to photograph her dress.  My Grandmother, Isobel, and my Grandad, Herbert were both born in 1912 in Halkirk, Alberta and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. They were both in WWII with my Grandad as a tail gunner on a supply plane, and my Granny and her sister Helen working in an airplane factory in Port Arthur, which is now known as Thunder Bay. They married in 1945 or 1946 and had their first of three children in their 40’s, which was rare for that day and age. One thing I love most about them is that they took the time to be together and enjoy each other before beginning a family.
