Since moving to Ladysmith 2 years ago, I have been waiting to photograph a maternity or motherhood session down at Holland Creek and it finally happened!

When we first moved here I was pregnant and was not much into walking let alone hiking, which was not like me at all! Jeff finally got me out for a “hike” one day (it was maybe 1km total haha) and we went to explore Holland Creek. We were walking along the trail and found a small path off to the side and decided to explore. We went through some thick folliage and a massive mud puddle but once we got through it, I realized I had found my happy place. The sun was streaming in through the trees so perfectly that it looked like it was a painting. I imagined having my maternity photos taken there, however there was no way I was walking down or back up that big hill!

My session with Julia and her family was so completely wonderful and filled my bucket list for locations to photograph!
