Ever since having my first child (I am currently 3/4 finished brewing up my second one!), I have been so in awe of women!

Pregnancy is not a walk in the park , nor is labor or the delivery of your child, and then you have a newborn to keep alive! I remember thinking the hospital was insane to just let us walk out with our newborn!  It is a journey that is truly lifechanging and one that you have to completely surrender to… this took a lot of practice for me.  One minute your heart is bursting with love, the next you have zero clue what you are doing, then you think you have everything figured out and something changes. Then comes the hormones, the beautiful hormones that come with motherhood!  I never knew I would cry so much in my life… happy or sad!  Motherhood is the hardest and most challenging and incredible journey that I have ever been on and would not have chosen any other path for myself!

All the babies being born right now are nothing but pure magic and are here to remind us of the simplicity and beauty of life.  There is no lie that the last year and a half has had its ups and downs, however these sweet, pure little souls bring so much beauty into our worlds that it is easy to move on and looks towards brighter times.  I always feel so honored to capture motherhood and newborn sessions on Vancouver Island! It is always an opportunity to meet and connect with other mamas in the most beautiful locations!✨
