This post is dedicated to all the strong women that surround me!
Lately everyone around me is either pregnant, just gave birth or has a toddler. Each has had such a different experience and journey; some over the moon excited, some incredibly uncomfortable, some just taking it day-by-day and some not even missing a beat. It has been so wonderful watching and being a part of the journeys they are all on and getting to watch their little ones grow into strong women and kind men.

I sometimes get mildly panicky about the day I will enter motherhood and I am continually asking my exhausted, puke covered friends, “is it worth it?” Every time I get the same answer, “ABSOLUTELY!” Not one of them would change it for anything in the world. Many of our conversations now revolve around being a mother and what comes with that, including the exhaustion and always being covered in breast milk and poop. Then the conversations generally turn to the labour and delivery in which I clam up and start finding something to keep busy so I don’t have to hear the details because it is something I cannot let myself think about… until the one the day a group of women that I was with said the delivery is your passageway to womanhood and that you go through this pain because you know there will be your little baby, that you could not imagine loving so much, waiting on the other side. Hearing and seeing the love that each and every one of them has for their children absolutely melts my heart and gets my ovaries going. I have not yet embarked on my journey to motherhood, however I know that when that day arrives for me I will be surround by a village of strong, powerful women to show me the ropes… and babysit!?!!
Oh how true this is… also I think there is going to be a baby boom…. everyone, literally everyone is pregnant. That ship has sailed for me, but everyone else has drank the water !
Love this tribute to the beautiful mamas! I love the locations for these sessions. Do you provide styling guide/ the maternity gowns for them? They are all gorgeous!
Thank you for your lovely comment! I provide guideline and recommendations for what to wear however I tell them to ultimately make sure they are comfortable and feel beautiful. I also have a wardrobe they can choose from if they do not have anything or want something different!!

Well written post! It’s so true motherhood isn’t glamourous but you wouldn’t change it for the world! These images of these gorgeous mothers-to-be are very glamorous and beautiful!
Such a thoughtful message to embracing all aspects of motherhood! You are so gifted at capturing the beauty of pregnancy ! I personally didn’t feel great a lot of the time and after months of vomiting did not feel beautiful often or comfortable in my own skin but you captured such great moments that I can honestly say made me feel beautiful and so comfortable. Thank you ❤️

I’m a toddler Mom (although I still think of him as a baby), and Motherhood is amazing. It’s a phase in your life that no one can prepare you for. Everyone experiences, embraces, and goes through it’s ever-changing seasons differently. Beautiful photos!
You’ve written such Beautiful and thoughtful words! I’m also not a mom yet and I do predominately motherhood and birth photography so I feel surrounded by the pregnancy and baby world. A lot of your thoughts of preparedness have been on my heart too but knowing your community is solid around you gives me such a peace as well.
