Intimate portrait photography session with Tanya and Jelger in Burnaby, BC at Barnet Marine Park. This park is always my favourite place to shoot as there are always thick clouds nestled cozily into the hills across the water, which always adds a bit of drama and atmosphere in the photos.  Plus I love capturing all the tiny islands on the other side of the inlet near Deep Cove in North Vancouver.  If you turn the opposite direction there are train tracks which I always love taking advantage of.

I took a liking to these two as soon as they stepped out of their vehicle and even more when I learned they were from Belgium as it is one of my favourite places to travel to! They both came up to me with such warmth and were eager to explore and jump through mud puddles to get the shots I wanted.  Tanja and I chatted non-stop while Jelger tenderly led Tanja around the puddles so she did not ruin her outfit.  It was so sweet watching the two of them interact with each other with such love.  I had such a pleasure spending the evening with these two!

Tanja and Jelger are wedding photographers in Vancouver as well, and sometimes it gets a little nerve-wracking shooting other photographers, however these two were a dream to shoot and completely let me take the reigns while following directions flawlessly. They were a dream to shoot and not afraid to get intimate and cozy with one another in front of the camera.

I love my job so much as each couple I photograph has such a different story and brings something unique and authentic to the session. I always enjoy meeting new people I photograph and I always cherish the moments of how quickly you get to know couples on such an intimate level. Did I mention I love my job, especially when the people I photograph have such incredible style like these two!
