Nestled in the lush forest at Cheakamus Centre in Squamish on one of the hottest days of the summer, is where Sarah and Stephen said their vows during their first look. It was a beautiful intimate moment between the two of them, and of course two photographers in their face… just kidding, we always kept our distance to give them their space. After their first look they had a bit of down time before they said their I Do’s and a chance to spend some time together. Their ceremony was beyond beautiful and heartwarming, with both of his parents from Ireland walking him down the aisle, and both of her parents escorting her. It was beautiful to see the family involvement and both sides of the family coming together for such a special day. The receiving line they had after the wedding was full of laughs, hugs and tears of joy!
It was so honouring to be a part of their process and capture their wedding day. They were both so calm, cool and collected throughout the entire day. At one point I found Sarah sitting quitely (and everso elegantly) in a room drinking a glass of water! If only I could suggest this to every bride on their wedding day; to sit back and have a few moments to yourself to take it all in… and to hydrate hydrate hydrate. I really admired her self care in that moment and knew the day would run extra smoothly because of both of their ease with the day.

Sarah and Stephen are the epitome of beautiful people inside and out and they really included and welcomed everyone to be a part of their wedding day. At the entrance to the ceremony they had a table for their ring warming. Upon the table was their ring box and a sign in which the inscription read: “Before you take your seat please take a moment to participate in the warming of Sarah & Stephen’s wedding rings. Hold the rings in your hand for a moment. Warm them with your love and make a silent wish for the couple, one that will carry them into a bright and lasting marriage”. I have not seen a ring warming table before and what a beautiful idea!
Grace, elegance and class were three of the elements that come to my mind immediately when I think of Sarah and Stephen’s wedding. Some people just have and exude that natural grace and class, whereas some of us do not…. like myself! I’m generally the one finding a carpet to stumble over! Thanks again to Sarah and Stephen for sharing their beautiful wedding day with me!
